Mystical, ancient, beautiful...

A village dating back more than 12 thousand years....

Its name means "place of stones" as its buildings were built with liparite stone. The church dating back to 1744 and the bell tower of San Lucas are a reflection of this material. Although they were rebuilt after earthquakes and fires, they retain their charm and both were declared National Monuments.

As a tourist, in Toconao you should walk around the square and buy some souvenirs, including alpaca wool fabrics and miniatures of the bell tower made of stone. On your tour, be sure to try the delicious fruit, quinces, figs, figs, figs and apricots from the Jere ravine.
